Happy Nurses Week!

May 10, 2018

Sunday May 6th through Saturday, May 12th is National Nurses Week, a celebration of nurses all around the world. Since Monday, we have spent the week showering our nurses with praises, thanks, flowers, food and appreciation. Many emails and thanks have been sent this week to all our nurses and we wanted to share some of those with you to show how incredible, understanding, compassionate, selfless and kind our Clinical Managers are. We are Adaptive because of them. Our clients are safe and comfortable in their homes because of their compassion. Words will never describe how much these men and women mean to us.

Our Director of Nursing & Compliance, Tara Smith, wrote, “Each time we hire a nurse at Adaptive, I think to myself how honored we are to have you and so thankful that you chose our company to further your nursing career.. I also pray that our luck of finding the “best nurses” never runs out! A nurse naturally has the caring instinct and takes care of everything. Being a nurse at Adaptive may not include all the skills that a hospital nurse does, but it does include going into some of the places no one else wants to go, telling a patient something they may not want to hear, just sitting for an hour or more and listening to your patient tell the same story you’ve heard the last 5 times you visited, lots and lots of charting, countless calls to MDs, and a LOT OF COMPASSION. Our nurses are sometimes the only face of Adaptive and I stand by the fact that’s why we have such a good reputation. Even on the worst days when it’s 5 degrees, 105 degrees, raining cats and dogs, etc., our nurses go in with a smile on their face to ensure that our all of our client’s needs are being met. In a mostly thankless position, I want to personally thank each and every Adaptive nurse for the job you do every single day. Your amazing qualities will never go unnoticed. We have made it this far because of you, I come to work each day because of you, and our clients remain safe in their homes because of you ❤ Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! Please never lose your light, your care and compassion, or the willingness to carry out Adaptive’s Mission and Vision every day! You all are the BEST!!”

Our Northern Territory Development Manager, Eric Halt, wrote, “We all want to take a moment to say Happy Nurses Week to all of the nurses within the Adaptive family. Becoming a nurse is one of the most selfless acts a person can undertake. In a society of so many different races, cultures, customs, and beliefs, nurses are a universal gift to all, and the dedicated work that they do and kindness they deliver on a daily basis should serve as a reminder of the fundamental humanity inside us all.”

Melia, our Hospice Director as well as a Registered Nurse, said “I’m beyond thankful for Chris and Lisa to care for our hospice patients. We back up each other daily, do admissions at 10pm or later, give up family time to be on-call, hold the hand of a dying patient and hug a grieving family member. We do it all without complaining and although we get tired from time to time, we still smile and keep going.”

In response to these messages, one of our Clinical Managers said, “Coming from an organization where I didn’t feel very respected, I must say today has just been wonderful! Almost 90 days in and I am so happy I work for this wonderful company! Thank you to EVERYONE! I have felt the love today!”

Nurse: just another word to describe a person strong enough to tolerate everything and soft enough to understand everyone. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to all nurses for going above and beyond the call of duty every day!
